Lace Up Your Boots for the 2nd Annual PIHA Summer Trail Challenge
The Natural Resources Committee is thrilled to announce the return of the Presque Isle Harbor Association Summer Trail Challenge! This event is designed to encourage members and their families to get outside, explore our beautiful PIHA trail system, and enjoy a friendly little competition.
The challenge officially kicked off on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, and runs all summer long through Labor Day Monday, September 7th, 2026.
How the Challenge Works
Members of the elusive PIHA Mushroom family have wandered out and hidden themselves on the PIHA trail system. Your mission is to find them!
1. Explore & Locate: Hit the trails and look for a hidden mushroom. There is one hidden on each of the PIHA trails, except for the Power Line Trail (Trails #3 and #4), which are excluded from the challenge.
2. Snap a Selfie: When you locate a mushroom, take a selfie with it to prove your discovery.
3. Claim Your Rewards: Bring your selfie back to the Clubhouse and show it to the Clubhouse Attendant. You will get your name added to the official Trail Challenge Control Board and earn a prize based on the specific trail and its difficulty rating.
Note: You can earn a prize once per PIHA trail.
Earn Prizes and Rank Up!
As you find more mushrooms, your rank on the Game Control Board increases. Individual trail rewards include sweet treats like Free Popcorn and Free Ice Cream at Portage.
The Ultimate Reward
For those dedicated explorers who find all 12 members of the PIHA Mushroom family and achieve the rank of Ranger:
• You will earn an exclusive PIHA Trail Challenge wearable! This item is custom-made for challengers and is not available for sale to the general membership.
• You will have the option to have your photo taken and proudly displayed on the wall at the Clubhouse.
Join the Fun!
This event is open to all PIHA members and their families. Grab your cameras, head out to the trailheads, and help us make the second year of this event a massive success so we can keep the tradition going for years to come!
See you out on the trails!
